Event Details
Following our successful visits to the new Thames Valley Signalling Centre at Didcot over the last three years the IRO South West Area has arranged a return visit.
Participants will have the opportunity to tour the control building, see the new signalling workstations in operation controlling the Didcot area. They will also see the changes to the workstations following the commissioning of the new platforms, track and signalling at Reading over Easter 2013.
There will also be an opportunity to learn about the work which is underway to transfer control of the Slough areas into the Centre, which is scheduled in December 2013.
There will be an opportunity for some hands on experience on the signalling simulator.
Participants are requested to bring an Identity Card with them.
Colin Stanaway will be leading this visit.
