The North East Area Council are delighted to announce two dates for visits to Virgin Trains East Coast’s Azuma and Class 91 driving simulators at Leeds, which will include the opportunity to have a go yourself.
Tuesday 17th April 2018 & Tuesday 1st May 2018
The simulator is used to train new drivers and test experienced ones in a safe & controlled environment, with very realistic controls. It can help give confidence to drivers after operational incidents, which just wouldn’t be possible on the live railway.
This event will be of particular relevance to those who are interested in train operations, especially those who are studying on one of the IRO courses.
Places are very limited for these visits with places to be allocated by ballot, which will take place on Tuesday 3rd April. Further details will be given to those who have been allocated a place.
