Event Details

The North East Area Council are delighted to announce an additional event in the 2016 programme: a visit to Virgin Trains East Coast’s HST and Class 91 driving simulators at Leeds station, which will include the opportunity to have a go yourself.

The simulator is used to train new drivers and test experienced ones in a safe & controlled environment, with very realistic controls.  It can help give confidence to drivers after operational incidents, which just wouldn’t be possible on the live railway.

This event will be of particular relevance to those who are interested in train operations, especially those who are studying on one of the IRO courses.

Please note that this visit is a limited numbers event.  Therefore please register as soon as possible, as places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, with priority being given to students taking IRO academic courses.  If a delegate subsequently cannot attend, it is essential that they notify the organiser; late advice or failure to notify may reduce eligibility for subsequent events.
