Presentation by Ian Cleland; Freight Development Manager, Network Rail, on the Strategic Freight Network

Venue: The Mailbox, Birmingham

The Department for Transport’s July 2007 White Paper “Delivering a Sustainable Railway” proposed the develoment of a Strategic Freight Network (SFN) in England and Wales as part of its high level strategy to address the growing demands on the network for moving passengers and freight.

So, what’s been done since the 2007 White Paper? How much of the SFN has been delivered, what impact has it had on current freight carriers and customers and what remains to be done in the future? In this presentation, Tim Robinson, Netwrok Rail’s Director of Freight will bring us up-to-date with progresson SFN and the future programme.
