Event Details

The North East Area Council welcomes Inspector Iain McLaren, of the British Transport Police, to come and talk to members about “Policing the Railways”.

8.6 million people use the rail network every day and the mission of BT Police is to help get people home safe, secure and on time, by policing Britain’s railways, providing a service to rail operators, their staff and passengers across the country. They also police the London Underground, and several light railways and tram systems.

This event will be of particular relevance to those keen to further their knowledge of safety and security on the railways, as well as those who are studying on one of the IRO courses.

Light refreshments kindly supplied by Tracsis.

Please note that you should aim for a prompt arrival, as the reception area at the Academy will not be manned after 17:30hrs.
To reserve a place email your details including membership grade and area to: ne.events@railwayoperators.co.uk
