Event Details

Opened in 2008 the Network Rail training complex is a state of the art complex capable of training and developing front-line engineering and maintenance staff. Housing an indoor 60m replica track and an outdoor 150 replica track this event promises attendees the opportunity to explore these areas while gaining an understanding of the complex workings of the railway infrastructure through a presentation by one of the outstanding training officers.

Covering a variety of aspects of railway infrastructure, including signals, track circuits and points, the event is open to all members of all abilities. Attendees will be offered the opportunity to ask questions relating to railway infrastructure and given a practical and visual demonstrations of their workings.

The event also aims to provide a greater understanding of the work front-line engineering and maintenance staff perform in challenging environments to ensure the safety of all rail users.

An opportunity to network and socialise will also be available after the event at the Station Hotel.

This is a free to attend event, however, due to security arrangements BOOKING IS ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL. Email scottisharea@railwayoperators.co.uk to book your place. Your booking should not be deemed to have been secured unless you have received an email confirmation from the Chair.

Walking route from the station

  • Exit station and the sign for the Training Centre will be visible
  • Turn right and walk 150 m to the Training Centre
