Event Details
Innovation is not a word always associated with the rail industry. In fact one of the key reasons we run the safe railway that we do is our foundation of tried and tested practices. Unfortunately this can sometimes mean that innovation, which is welcomed into other industries, can be rejected by rail or take so long that it becomes expected rather than seen as innovative.
The Go Ahead Billion Journey project is changing that. Building on the success of London Midland Labs, Ian McClaren, Chief Financial Officer at Govia Thameslink Railway is leading this initiative to open up the industry to innovation that improves the experience for our customers.
Ian will also discuss how GTR are working with Microsoft to enhance their provision for the Transport Sector. Ian will be joined by Irina Parsina, Microsoft’s Customer Success Manager for the Transport Sector.
We welcome all IRO members, anyone that works in the railway industry (or is looking to join), and anyone interested in becoming a member of the IRO. Refreshments will be available from 17.45 and the event will be followed by our popular networking session giving you the opportunity to meet fellow railway industry professionals with a complimentary warm finger buffet.
