Event Details
Following the success of last year’s IRO South East Area visit to France we have received an invite from David Franks, Chief Executive of Iarnród Éireann, to spend a weekend understanding Irish Rail. Ireland offers an opportunity to experience vertically integrated mainline railway operations.
The provisional trip schedule is:
Friday: Start at 9am in Dublin to travel to Portlaoise Depot followed by a visit to the Inchicore Training Centre Train Driver Simulator
Saturday: Tour of the Central Traffic Control followed by an overview of Heuston Station operations. We will then head out into Dublin for the evening.
Sunday: Heading home/Free to explore the city.
