Matthew Golton, GWR Commercial Development Director and former First Rail Holdings Bid Director addresses the IRO South East Area.
Great Western Railway was reborn in September 2015 with an ambitious aim – to revalue rail in the hearts and minds of the travelling public. With a promise of new or refurbished trains on every route, a huge increase in capacity across the network and significant investment in stations as well as staff training, the relatively short Direct Award Franchise is definitely punching above its weight.
Matthew will be speaking about the Direct Award negotiations he led with the DfT, the transformation of FGW into GWR and the future of the company, as well as answering questions from the floor.
We welcome all IRO members, anyone that works in the railway industry (or is looking to join the industry) and anyone interested in becoming a member. Refreshments will be available from 17:30 and the event will be followed by our popular networking session giving you the opportunity to meet fellow railway industry professionals.
