Event Details

James Denny, Area Health & Safety Representative, Thames Valley Signalling Centre

Since becoming an RMT health & safety rep in 2016, James has relentlessly championed the development of a refreshed safety culture across the Thames Valley area. James will outline some of his driving factors, including lessons around mental health awareness, and the values of diversity and inclusion. He will explore the benefits of collaborative working in solving problems, highlighting successes, such as closure of long-standing hazards that had become politicised, and the development of the Western Welfare Conference. Additionally, James will explore the benefits that a fully-integrated safety culture can bring to the entire organisation, including proactive, smart solutions and resultant performance improvements.

Meet in the foyer from 1630 for a 1700 start. An Area Council member will be on hand for the meet’n greet.
