Event Details

The GWR network is going through a major transformation – electrification, new or refurbished trains on every route (bringing extra capacity and faster journeys), the arrival of the Elizabeth line, the start of the operating contract with Heathrow Express, interfacing with HS2, new stations, new car parks… But all these good news items are also bringing their challenges – unprecedented levels of engineering access being required, the closure of two train care depots, wide-ranging testing and safety validation, extensive driver and train crew training… Rob Mullen, GWR’s Operations Director, is very much at the sharp end of delivering this transformation. He will speak to us about what the company is doing to keep passengers moving whilst all these changes take place and how GWR is making sure that all the improvements happen as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

We welcome all IRO members, anyone that works in the railway industry (or is looking to join), and anyone interested in becoming a member of the IRO. Refreshments will be available from 17.45 and the event will be followed by our popular networking session giving you the opportunity to meet fellow railway industry professionals with a complimentary warm finger buffet.
