Join us for our November event where we will be welcoming David Clarke, Technical Director at the Rail Industry Association (RIA), previously of the RSSB and DfT, David has a wealth of knowledge across the industry. He will talk about the work the RIA have led to demonstrate that electrification can be and is being delivered cost effectively and how this supports the emerging strategy for decarbonisation.
He will describe the ‘decarbonisation challenge’, the latest technical developments in electrification and low carbon rolling stock and describe the cross industry work to develop a plausible strategy to achieve the goal of a net zero carbon railway by 2050 or perhaps sooner.
Prior to the event there will be some time to network with other members and buffet will be provided. We will be meeting at New Street Station Reception to sign in which is located next to the main ticket machine area.
Covering a topic that is unusual but important to the Railway future this is sure to be a popular event so please use the booking system to reserve your place.
