The apprenticeship standards have been developed by employers and form progressive career pathways, incorporating the knowledge, skills and behaviours employers have defined for today’s industry.

Apprenticeship provision as an important aspect for the IRO in delivering its vision of “supporting the improvement of the railway operations workforce helping railway organisations to succeed”.

We offer three rail operations contextualised apprenticeship standards at level 3, level 4 and level 5:

IRO delivers these three management apprenticeship programmes as an end to end offer with railway operations modules included within the programmes.

All apprenticeship applications have to go through the employer organisation and their selection processes. Places on apprenticeships may depend on there being a suitable course and the availability of levy funding.
