East West Railway Company.

In 2017, the Secretary of State for Transport set up East West Railway Company with an ambitious challenge to accelerate delivery of rail infrastructure and passenger services between Oxford and Cambridge. The Company became operational on 10 September 2018: their aim is to be a force for industry change, for the people and communities they serve.

When completed, the line will serve Oxford, Bicester, Milton Keynes, Bedford, Cambridge, and communities in between, providing a quicker and more reliable alternative to current transport options.

Designed to support local and national aspirations for economic growth across the Oxford-Cambridge arc, the project involves building infrastructure that works for local people by supporting job creation and improving access to housing.

The operational model for East West rail services is currently under development, with a clear remit to deliver new standards in customer service through the design, maintenance and operation of the railway.

East West Railway Company has grown from a core team of seven employees to over 62 dedicated specialists in a short period of time. Their focus is to seek out the right skills and mindset to support its remit for innovation.
