Transport for Wales (TfW) exists to drive forward the Welsh Government’s vision of a high quality, safe, integrated, affordable and accessible transport network. TfW is key to delivering the Welsh Government’s key themes as set out in Prosperity for All: The National Strategy.
In 2018, KeolisAmey, which operates as Transport for Wales Rail Services, was appointed to operate and develop the Wales and Borders rail service and South Wales Metro in partnership with Transport for Wales as part of a £5 billion investment. This investment will fund significant improvements to the frequency and quality of Wales and Borders services, as well as the creation of the South Wales Metro.
